Exploring a CAVE
August 13, 2011I did, but not really.
In Second Life (SL) there is an island called CAVE Island. At this location, several education-related organizations combine their resources, including Boise State University’s Department of Educational Technology (EDTECH) (actually a neighbor, but close enough); AECT_SL, the virtual worlds committee of the Association for Educational Communications and Technology; iNACOL, the International Association for K-12 Online Learning; ARVEL SIG is short for the Applied Research in Virtual Environments for Learning special interest group. Affiliated with the American Educational Research Association (AERA); and The AECT Library, a premier in-world resource for educational tools and resources.
So all of us educators, practitioners and others interested in learning in this 3D virtual environment have a pile of resources to use – and help from all who work and visit there, too.
The other good news is that the pile of resources can fit so easily in a little space! This is just one of the many imaginative resources in SL. Join me, Dudley Dreamscape, in SL and see what you or your students can learn!
